The dream

We want to renew the playing field: it ought to be just as crystal clear for women to work with technology, as it is for men. We want for more to experience the excitement of working in tech, and how technology changes the world every day!

To ensure and develop competence long term, as well as inspire more to a career in tech, we want to shorten the gaps between industry, university, college, upper secondary and elementary school.

We are furthermore convinced that the distribution of men and women in positions of power needs to be levelled, not only in tech but in the world in general. We simply want to place more women in seats where they have the power to influence, with the goal of making the technology industries more equal, more innovative, and more profitable.

Teknikkvinnor challenge and promote development in a constructive manner, expressed by the Swedish idiom ‘framrutan är större än backspegeln’ (the front windshield is bigger than the rearview). We motivate, inspire and enable change adapted to the individual or organization from a long term perspective. Teknikkvinnor are a part of the solution.

Teknikkvinnor was founded as a network, which today is the bedrock of the organization. With knowledge and insight from hundreds of conversations with Teknikkvinnor and people in positions of power, both from industries and in politics, we now work to increase equality and inclusion in organizations and society at large. We do this through lectures, training and consulting, as well as through the creation of inclusive, constructive, happy and committed connections - either physical or digital.

We create both virtual and physical meetups to expand networking as well as to develop and inspire participants. During Autumn 2018 we established Teknikkvinnor for Managers and started our first local networks around the country.

We assist businesses and organizations to increase their equality and inclusive culture, tailored to their individual situation and needs. Our work is built on knowledge from hundreds of conversations and discussions with employees, students and people in positions of power as well as on steady scientific footing. With a network of experts we can easily bring in specialist expertise needed for projects.



We evoke thought, challenge norms and create discussion between individuals and in groups. From short inspirational presentations to complete workshops.


The network behind Teknikkvinnor is the reason for our very existence, and the basis for everything that we create today.

our history

Teknikkvinnor started as a Swedish Facebook group in September of 2017. In five days it had 5000 members, now almost 27 000 individuals, spread out all over Sweden. Based on the members’ needs and wishes, two sister networks have been created: Teknikkvinnor Chef & Teknikkvinnor Jobb. Over 20 meetups and events have been held since the inception, with invitees ranging from major industrial corporations to trade unions and student organisations to small startups.

We have had hundreds of conversations within the network Teknikkvinnor and with decisionmakers, and these have made it clear that a translator is missing. An intermediary who can translate what individuals in organizations experience, and what people in positions of power believe to be happening. During the very first year of Teknikkvinnor’s existence, we were invited to the political convention Almedalsveckan and set up talks with the Swedish government.



We see collaboration as the thing to create long lasting change, where both parties can do what they do best and are passionate about!
